The expressionist presented the idea that a piece of art can be totally void of any form of symbolism or imitations of real forms within itself, but rather have it’s own identity. A true abstract expressionist painting is just a painting, just like a table is a table, in the same way a painting can be just a painting and need not look like anything, symbolize or represent anything else. It exists on it’s own merit with it's own identity.
Natural expressionism is my own style of expressionist painting which I developed over a 5 year period. The concept of "Natural Expressionism" is a style of painting based on a philosophy of art. While each work is totally void of any symbolic representation to any specific object or form in nature, all the work reflects nature, life or energy, by the very way it is created, and the basic laws of aesthetics it embraces.
In this style of painting the techniques used to create each work are based on natural energy or force. The philosophy embraces the theory that all things are held together and in a constant state of change by force. Energy such as elector-magnetic radiation, gravity, vibration, and chemical reactions between the elements. These forces are in constand turmoil but continously finding harmony and balance. It is these forces that have molded and shaped the world and the entire universe to the state it is today. My style of painting was inspired by this energy in an effort to create the magnificent and complex beauty of nature in a purely natural way. My goal is in effect, to create a natural event on canvas, by using the same natural forces that created the universe and all the intimate details and beauty within.
The techniques used in this style of painting are based on natural forces and the basic laws of aesthetics, as is all nature. Therefore controling the paint is done not with a brush or other instruments, but rather by using and controlling natural forces. Only then can you re-create nature or rather a natural event, in it's purest form. Therefore the act of this style of painting is in effect re-creating or emulating natural form on the canvas.
The first step to have a level canvas on the floor. Since the canvas starts out level, the paint applied to the canvas will be affected by gravity only as much as it comes in contact with other elements on the canvas. The next step is to apply some paint and water to the canvas, this immediately causes a reaction between the paint and water. now by applying forces to the canvas such as, forced air, vibration, changes in gravity and other chemicals, you will create a reaction.
